This ceramic sculpture, 'The dance within' owes a debt to the work of Barbara Hepworth, the first British artist to pierce a sculptural form with a hole. Hepworth said: 'Sculpture to me is primitive, religious, passionate and magical - always affirmative', which is a good summary of what I am trying to achieve in this sculpture.
