Dancers

  Dancers (after Allen Jones), acrylic, 21x30cm

My inspiration here was an Allen Jones lithograph called ‘Paso Doble’ which seemed to me to catch the essence of my favourite dance – the tango. I have painted several version of this print, in acrylics, experimenting by modifying the composition and altering the colours. As Picasso once said 'Great artists don't borrow, they steal.' However I see this version not so much as an act of theft but as a homage to one of my favourite contemporary artists.
